which makes me happy everytime I look outside through the balcony door :) Happy Wednesday everyone!

A little spring on my balcony

Today I made step one of decorating my balcony for the summer season; mainly I cleaned it (!) and planted some first flowers. It definitely is just a beginning - my balcony has a very unfortunate shape, it's really long and narrow and for now just the left corner is organized. But as it is still beginning of April, I am not worried about it.

Left corner of the balcony is next to the living room so now looking through the balcony door I can already see the flowers, which makes me very happy!

I would love to have a wider balcony but I know that even smallest one can be turned into spectacular space, have a look at some inspiration photos, from here

So no complaining, just keeping up work and buying more pots & flowers :)

Why dishcloth shouldn't be fun?

Well, I don't know why, I just never saw any pretty one in my life before. They usually sell them in those ugly yellow and pink colors for some reason and I just never really gave it a thought.

And then yesterday my sister gave me these really cute ones from H&M Home. I saw it and I started to wonder why it never appeared to me that I need a matching dishcloth? Now I'm afraid there is no coming back after this discovery...

Lunch treatment

Do you like spinach?

I do! I like the baby spinach more than green salad or rucola leaves. And I love the combination of baby spinach, avocado and a blue cheese! Yummmmm!

Oh and if you try it, don't forget to add some lemon to the dressing - it will fit perfectly and will stop the avocado from going brown.

Geometric tiles

If there is one thing I am the most happy about in my flat, is the geometric kitchen tiles which I still really like.

However, if I was to redo the flat from scratch, I would probably decide to go for pale one color kitchen wall and instead do even more of geometric tiles by putting them on the floor. Companies like Vives ceramica or Purpura are really making me want to have a new place to furnish!!

A little piece of Xmas decoration

I finally had a chance to go to the woods and find some branches to make this little decoration I was planning for, hope you like it :)

Tiramisu muffins

Not too sweet, not too ordinary, just yummy! I will surely do them again soon!

Recipe from here:

For 10-12 muffins:

• 110 g butter
• 110 g  brown sugar
• 110 g flower
• half of tea spoon of baking powder
• half of tea spoon of baking soda
• 1 spoon of cacao
• 2,5 tea spoons of instant coffee (in powder)
• 2 eggs
• 1 spoon of Amaretto

All ingredients should be in room temperature. Flower, baking powder, soda and cacao put together in a bowl.

Whip the butter in the mixer until it becomes fluffy. Add sugar and keep mixing. Add both eggs, one by one, mixing until all ingredients combine. Add coffee and keep mixing.

To that, add all the dry ingredients that you prepared before and steer it with a spoon.

Put the dough into the muffin forms, bake 20-30 min in  180ºC.

The cream on top I did in other way than in the original recipe. I simply created same cream that I do for tiramisu dessert:

• put 4 big spoons of mascarpone into a bowl
•  mix it together with 1 egg yellow and some sugar (as per your taste)
• whip one egg white separately, and when it becomes stiff, add it to the rest of the cream, steering delicately

Statement piece

How do you like my new painting? 
Believe me, I know it is of considerable size but I could not resist it as I was hoping the colours will play really nicely with the rest of the room.

And how I experienced its considerable size is that I had to wait for it for over a month as no car in the family was big enough for the painting to fit!

New start?

...and a new favourite painting!

I have been recently looking at Saatchi online and this painting I liked so much that I have had this page opened for three days now in the browser :) Once I share here - I guess I can close the browser! The painting is from artist called Zek who lives in Izmir in Turkey. This just one more person that I like and admire that lives in that city (big hug, Hayrushie!)

I saw this house when biking through Cracow last weekend. I really like it - and those who look close enough will notice why I like it even more :)

It's Easter here?

Excuse the question mark, I got confused by the SNOW lying around. World is really standing upside down, no snow on Christmas and instead snow for Easter? Well, we try to pretend we don't see it and go on with the Easter tradition...

Good news

... And that is, an interesting concert that for a change, I can attend, taking place in Krakow. I am really happy that Julia Marcell will play this Friday in Fabryka

ZOO

Lazy sun

It's such a springish feeling this weekend as we have a forecast for a sunny weather with 20 degrees! That is NOT usual around here. I plan to spend the time outdoor playing with my cute nephew Leon alias Gluton but before I go, here is a portion of my favourite pastel yellows for you - just about right for the weather like this!

Medzilaborce - "mesto pop-artu"

Did you know that the second largest collection of Andy Warhol art is in Andy Warhol Museum in Medzilaborce? Did you know that his family was born nearby this very little town, kind of in the middle of nowhere in North Slovakia? Well if you didn't know, let the consolation be that I know only since this last weekend. We were in the area and decided to step by to the museum. The city seemed to be completely dead, at the museum parking there was only one other car... It is unbelievable that in this little town you can find: a church, tesco and a huge Warhol museum! I must say, it was interesting but quite scary to be in this big museum the two of us all alone.. quite scary actually :) But I got to know some of his work that I did not know before... which is what it is all about, right? :)

... with no reason at all I was looking at the images from London's best hotels and the absolute winner to me is the Soho Hotel. So pretty. So wish one day I can stay there. Do you think they do Groupons?

Marni for H&M

After the Versace for H&M collection, that completely did not fit my style, I am so happy to see the Marni for H&M collection. I think it's delightful! (planning on having a quick stroll the day the collection hits the shops, yay!)
