Tragedy

This morning a fatal plane catastrophy happened.. A plane with many Polish officials on board has crashed in Smolensk, apparently there are no survivors.
Lech Kaczynski, the President, and his wife were among the victims of the crash. Also S. Skrzypek, head of Polish National Bank was killed among 132 of other passengers.

I was not a supporter of the President, nor of Mr. Skrzypek (I still remember our endless discussions about his competency when I was studying and my previous professor was almost nominated to this spot instead of Mr. Skrzypek). But this accident is horrible, terrifying and I am deeply sorry for all the families of the victims.

I also hope that the government that is having an extraordinary meeting right now will be able to control the current chaos in the country as soon as possible.

A brief candle; both ends burning
An endless mile; a bus wheel turning
A friend to share the lonesome times
A handshake and a sip of wine
So say it loud and let it ring
We are all a part of everything
The future, present and the past
Fly on proud bird
You're free at last.

Sky in Liege

After the Eastern break I am back! I spent one beautiful week at home with my family and friends... :)

On my way there I almost missed my flight, due to the train delays in Liege. Since I had over an hour of waiting time there, I concentrated on looking up in the sky...

What's the point of watching The City?

Although the plot is predictable and the conversations at the times seem really silly, I do like to watch the MTV serie called "The City". One thing is undisputable: those girls know how to dress! Pure visual pleasure, if you ask me. I am a particular fan of Olivia's Palermo personal dressing style: Below some print screens from a few episodes plus shot's of Olivia on different events (those are found on style.com).

Recreational reading

I'm currently reading this german book "Eine Frau, ein Buch". It's not about a deep plot but yet the topic is substantial! - women. The book devided into chapters the important parts of women's life: Becoming a woman, woman without relationship, woman in a relationship, woman and culture, woman in business, etc. And for each of those parts the book is giving funny yet very practical information (e.g. how to recognize a brillant or which songs are best after the break up :)

If you understand German, have a read!

A little bit of Wonderland...

Let us feel like we are in a Fashion Wonderland for a moment :)

These would make the best print on T-shirt ever!

I love the graphics of Pat Kuleta, a Polish artist. These ones come from his project called "American Dream", which you can read more about here.

my own colours

I really want to have a new camera, to finally have no excuse if my pictures turn out to be depressingly disappointing. Having said that, I do have some pictures that I keep liking a lot. And today is the day to share with you some of them. More to follow!

My introduction to Preen

To be completely honest, I have never heard of the brand Preen before.. But I came across their S/S 10 collection (I still refuse to look at F/W 10! First I need to experience the proper summer!) and I really really like it.
Mostly I appreciate the delicate fabrics and unexpected cuts on the dresses... See below my favourites...
